Back to the first date

Allie has been a longtime friend of mine, so I was especially excited to create something beautiful with her and capture this season of her life. Getting to photograph people you care about always makes a session feel even more meaningful, and this one was no exception. This shoot felt like such a perfect reflection of Allie and Nicholas’s love story, personal, joyful, and filled with places that hold special memories for them.

We began the evening at The Trust, which is part of the beautiful venue where they will be getting married in just a few short months. It was so fun to start in a place that already holds so much anticipation for their future together. As we took photos in the hall, you could just feel the excitement of what is to come for them on their wedding day.

After spending some time there, we took a stroll down North Duke Street, letting the city become part of the story. One of our favorite stops was the sweet little shop where Allie and Nicholas had their very first date, and later, where Nicholas proposed. Being able to photograph them in a place that means so much to their relationship made the session feel even more special. It was such a full-circle moment to capture them there as they prepare for their wedding day.

The weather could not have been more perfect for a mid-March evening. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and it felt more like early summer than the beginning of spring. With a beautiful 78-degree day and sunlight wrapping around the streets and buildings, everything reflected so beautifully in their photos.

It truly was such a sweet and joy-filled evening celebrating these two and the story they’re writing together. I cannot wait to see them walk down the aisle in just a few months and begin the next chapter of their lives!
